We faced many challenges this summer as a market and as a community, and we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our customers and vendors who made summer 2020 a great season at the Maynard Farmers Market. We plan to continue our mission to bring fresh food to our community next summer, and we hope to see you all then! Check back in spring 2021 for new schedules, new vendors, and all our other news.
The Market will be running its normal 9am-1pm hours on Saturday July 4 and its a great opportunity for you to pick up items for picnics, barbecues and your holiday weekend breakfasts.
More types of vegetables are maturing each week – great for salads and grilling. Along with a variety of greens Brigham Farm had the first squash of the season on Opening Day.
This Saturday, picking cukes, baby fennel and japanese eggplant are just three of the new items that will be at Applefield Farm.
For breakfast, visit Balance Rock Farm for eggs, bacon, breakfast sausage, maple syrup and Hogan Bros coffee beans. Or pick up some chicken, lamb, beef or pork to put on the grill for lunch or dinner. At Cookie Lady Treats, scones and fruit breads pair well with morning tea (with honey from Hudson Hives) or get one of this week’s sweet offerings for dessert.
Artisan Natalie Boily of Wellness & Oils will be attending this week. You can preview her offerings on her Etsy site, including the recently introduced adult washable face mask. Hope to see you on the 4th in your creative red, white, and blue!
Here’s a schematic map of our new market layout. The new, concentrated market is on the West side of the Mill & Main parking lot. It’s smaller than last year, with defined entrance and exit areas and a one-way shopping path. Vendors will handle merchandise, but feel free to bring your own shopping bag for completed purchases. We look forward to seeing you on June 27th, opening day!
Good news! The Maynard Farmer’s Market opens for the 2020 season on Saturday, June 27th–right on time. To provide a safe market experience for everyone–shoppers, farmers, and our hardworking volunteers–we’ll have new rules in place, referencing local and state health guidelines as we reopen. The Maynard Farmers’ Market needs a part-time Market Manager this summer. It’s easy and fun. This is a paid position, about 7 hours of work per week. You need to be able to transport supplies, like our popup tents, set up the Market booth, and assist vendors with checking in and setting up as needed before the market opens.
