Get ready for another exciting Saturday at the Maynard Farmers Market! We have a library theme this week. The fun kicks off at 9:00 AM with the return of Mr. Mark for a delightful story time (and maybe a surprise parade!). And stop by the Library’s community table to sign up for a library card and learn about their fantastic programing for both kids and adults.
We asked the library team for some book recommendations that capture the spirit of local food, community, and the Farmers Market. Check them out!
Children’s (preschool) books recommended by Children’s Librarian Mark Malcolm:
Chickens to the Rescue by John Himmelman
The Most Wonderful Egg in the World by Helme Heine
Adult non-fiction:
Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life by Barbara Kingsolver (recommended by Collection Services Librarian Rachel Alexander)
Food Margins: Lessons from an Unlikely Grocer by Cathy Stanton (recommended by Adult Programming Coordinator Sally Thurston)
This week is packed with fresh produce, tasty treats, unique artisan crafts, and more. The market runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, rain or shine. Check out our awesome lineup below and click on the links to learn more:
